Historic Lebanon’s
Mission & Approach

Historic Lebanon’s Mission is to preserve, enrich, and promote our historic downtown as the vibrant heart of our community.

We do this through the Main Street Approach™ to community-based revitalization.

  • Supports a community’s transformation by enhancing the physical and visual assets that set the commercial district apart.

We partner with the City of Lebanon on beautification and streetscaping.

  • Involves creating a strong foundation for a sustainable revitalization effort, including cultivating partnerships, community involvement, and resources for the district.

We partner with the City of Lebanon, The Lebanon-Wilson Chamber of Commerce, and the Downtown Lebanon Group.

  • Focuses on capital, incentives, and other economic and financial tools to assist new and existing businesses, catalyze property development, and create a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and innovators that drive local economies.

We partner with other Main Street organizations to support our businesses through promotion, community events, and training.

  • Positions the downtown or commercial district as the center of the community and hub of economic activity, while creating a positive image that showcases a community’s unique characteristics.

We work to promote our downtown as a vibrant hub, promoting businesses, historic places, and events!

  • Raised in a small chocolate factory and café/catering business in rural Missouri, 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 comes from a long line of small business entrepreneurs. She and her husband moved to Wilson County over 10 years ago, where she continued catering and making chocolates for friends and events. As demand grew, she opened The Black Sheep Café in The Mill at Lebanon—offering hand-dipped chocolates, coffee, loaded teas, dirty sodas, and breakfast or lunch. The café also features a wide variety of retail items from local small businesses, artists, and farms. Michael and April love Lebanon, enjoy supporting fellow entrepreneurs, and are proud to call it home!

  • Shawn Smith was raised in Hendersonville but has made Lebanon home for over 2 decades. Beyond the world of fine jewelry, Shawn is an avid cook, specializing in grilling and smoking meats. He has successfully competed in many culinary competitions. Shawns love for outdoor cooking has led to a lucrative side hustle, where he creates and sells his own line of barbecue sauces and spices under the Hushpiggies brand.

  • Darlene is the heart and soul of Island Breeze Bistro, known for her flavorful meat & three and meat & two plates inspired by vibrant island flavors. She also serves fresh coffee, hearty breakfasts, and refreshing boba tea—making her bistro a true community favorite.

Founded in 1897, Huddleston Century Farm has been continually farmed for 128 years and is currently home to the 4th, 5th, and 6th generations of direct descendants. They hope their contributions of sweet potatoes and their newest venture, maple syrup, sweeten your dining experience!
